Looking Back | Looking Forward

This past Saturday we had our Graduation Ceremony, and said goodbye to many friends we grew to love this year.

Here is a photo of the graduating students.

It hasn’t fully sunk in yet that they are gone, and I won’t see most of them again before we get to Heaven… it is a bittersweet thought.

Here is a testimony from one of our graduating first-year students:

“We are finally getting close to the end of the school year and I could not be more thankful for what God has done throughout this year. I am a student in a different situation than most, because I came to WOL right after graduating with a degree in industrial engineering. While I was in the university God called me out to take care of people, counsel, and walk with them. I then understood that my answer should be to stop and prepare myself. The Word of Life Bible Institute came as an answer to my prayers to equip myself to serve God. During the year God was shaping my character, giving me more experiences in the ministry, and allowing me to know Him better through studying His word. It was an amazing experience to dig into the scriptures and learn God’s plan through the ages from Genesis to Revelation. During the school year I had many opportunities to serve in any way I could find whether through assigned services, or multiple ministries such as sing team, homeless shelter, and street evangelism. Today I feel more prepared to serve anywhere God leads me.”Daniel Castro | Brazil
Looking back at the year, there are many lessons I have learned, and I am thankful for God’s mercy and patience – there are many things to improve for next year.

But looking forward, I hope to take these lessons and better serve the students who will be here next year.

Today we are going to a wedding! It is the wedding of Antal Andrea and Arthur Gomes. They are both graduates of the BI. Andrea just finished her second year, and Arthur spent this past year as the Assistant Dean of Men. I am so grateful to him and for him. I have learned so much from him, and he will be very, very missed!

We are currently looking for someone to take Arthur’s place in the BI as the Assistant Dean of Men. There is someone who may be interested, but he wishes to pray and seek counsel about the job before committing.
Please pray that God would lead this person’s steps, and if that means he would not be joining us in the BI, then please pray that God would send someone in His time.

Our Admissions Coordinator, Annie Jakab has this board hanging by her desk.

These are the new first-year students that have already been accepted! And there are many more in the process of getting their application and other paperwork filled out.

Praise God!

In the meantime, Lili is busy with Summer Camp Registration, which is going very well, we are on track to have a well-filled camp season!

We also have some exciting news regarding our new house, but I will let Lili write about that part of our lives.

Thank you for your prayers!
