New Year’s Resolution

Hi there,

dscf0105

Chris, the kids, and I were looking forward to this year, as we hope and believe this year will be “a year of reunions” (as my dad would say). It’s hard to believe that in less than 6 months we will be moving back to the country we met in, we got married in, and where our first child was born. 2 years ago we visited Hungary mainly to celebrate my father’s 70th birthday with friends and family, and we spent 2 months there, not knowing when we will be able to return. We had no idea that in two short years we will be going back, but this time to stay. 🙂

Before I write about us, and our past month, I want to grab the opportunity to write about New Year’s resolution.
dscf1271Here is what I think: If you see something that needs to change in your life, if there is something that can be improved and you know how, don’t wait until New Year to change that. Don’t even wait until the next day. If you think you should start exercising, there’s no better time than now. If you think you should read your Bible more often, there is no better time than now. If you think you should get your act together, there is no better time than now. If you think you should pray more for others, there is no better time than now. Most of these things are hard to start but once you are doing them and see and feel the positive impact they have in your life, you are more likely to do them. And once they becomes a habit, you don’t have to remind yourself to do them. They will become a natural part of your life. So while there’s nothing wrong with New Year’s resolution, don’t wait until January 1st, 2018 to change something you know you should. 🙂

My birthday gift from Amy. 🙂

Back to our past month… 🙂 We had a great Christmas at my in-laws’ house. The kids enjoyed time with Néni (Grandma), Grandpa, Aunt Becky, Uncle David, Kevin, and Ken. We went over on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. We are so thankful to be able to celebrate our Savior’s birth with family. While Amy knows the reason we celebrate Christmas is to remember Jesus’ birth, I would lie if I said she wasn’t happy that presents were involved, too. 😀 Amy and Haley both enjoyed opening their gifts and are happy playing with them ever since. 🙂

At the City Museum

A couple of days after Christmas Chris took me to the City Museum in St. Louis, MO for my birthday. It was a surprise trip, I didn’t know where we were going or what we will be doing. We had a great time there, we highly recommend it. (Don’t let its name full you, click on the link to see what it’s about!) I have to admit, I wasn’t too brave, but we did slide down a 6 story slide, and climb through an airplane. 😀 We had lots of fun, and are so thankful to Karen and Becky for watching the kids for the day while we were gone.

amys-christmas-program-7Haley has been using more and more complex sentences and she (finally) knows all her colors (12 to be exact). She doesn’t know all her letters yet, but she is working on them. She loves to spell words (which she does incorrectly, of course), and she loves to count objects (which she does correctly until the last object, which will be “ten” according to her, regardless of what number comes next). She is very determined, stubborn, caring, loving, and strong-willed. She has to do everything by herself (note that it’s not just that she “can,” but she “has to” – according to her). She is fun, and we absolutely adore her.

amys-christmas-programAmy is doing very well in school, she loves her teacher and her classmates. I am sure it will be hard for her to say goodbye to them in 6 months, but she is looking forward to meeting her new classmates in Hungary once school starts in September. She will be in first grade this year. Crazy!
Amy likes to play pretend, color, build, and play with others. She likes to come up with games and involve us in them. She has a sensitive spirit, and she is very emotional. We are so proud of her and love her dearly.

Chris and I are getting things ready for our move, we know July will be here before we know it. We are trying to reach more and more people and share with them our ministry plans. To God be the glory!

Have a wonderful, blessed week!
