Thankful for My Family

Dear Friends,

It’s been a month since the kids and I left our gate, and while we miss our family, our church family, our friends, and walking outside, it’s been really nice and we can’t complain. The only downside to living like this is the lack of face-to-face conversations. But we are so grateful for technology and for the opportunity we have to talk to friends and family even if not in person.

Amy had a week and a half of spring break, which was really nice. I know each kid is different, but for Amy, this online learning is a blessing. She finishes her assignments for the day in a few hours and has a lot of time to play outside or play with us. She also doesn’t have to wake up at 6:30 anymore (unless she wants to), which is also very nice.

Haley does a little school (writing and reading, as well as math) and then just plays with the boys and with us. She also enjoys being outside and watching Super Why (when she is allowed 🙂 ). She is an excellent “mom” for Jonathan and Joshua. She always makes sure they are safe and entertained.

Joshua is such a fun little boy. He is very particular, he wants things to be a specific way and is not pleased when they are not. We are working on how to react to situations when he doesn’t get his way. He also likes to make us laugh and play different games with us. He is actually really good at memory games, spot it, and uno type games.

Jonathan (whom we started calling Nate, for short) is as cute as they get. He started sitting up on his own last month, and he started crawling early this month. He also pulls himself up holding onto our furniture and he loves to just stand (holding onto something). His second tooth cut through a couple of weeks ago, and now he is working on some more. He is a happy baby in general, plays very well on his own, but he prefers company.

Chris is working from home, which is really nice. I am sure it’s not easy to work from home with 4 kids being active during the day, but he is doing well. He has his own room and earbuds. 😀

I am actually loving this. I love to slow down, have everyone home, and enjoy playing with the kids.
